I thought this was a primitive grain bin, and the gentleman that I purchased this from was unsure why it came with a stirring stick. When I decided to sell this piece, my buyer brought her father along. They were from the neighboring town, her father had even played in my house as a kid with the family that used to live here. He explained to me that this was not a grain bin. It was a bin used to preserve smoked meats, and the stir paddle was used to stir salt around the meat. SOLD

This was a tall hunt board back in the day. The legs had been cut down at some point to make it a side table or maybe a nightstand. Even so, it still features the beautiful patina of the original pine wood with a lovely scroll backboard. Likely American or European. SOLD
